Neben verdrehten Redewendungen und Sprichworten sind auch direkte Übertragungen deutscher Sätze ins Englische oft sehr lustig (oder besser der einzelnen Worte – ohne Rücksicht auf den Inhalt). Dabei ist es natürlich wichtig, nicht „aus versehen“ einen wirklich korrekten Ausspruch hinzubekommen. Hier habe ich mal meine „Denglisch“-Favoriten zusammengestellt:
- „With that you must not hold behind the mountain!“
- „That was a shot in the oven.“
- „You have not all wood on the fence.“
- „I think my pig is whistling.“
- „They are spidering, the Romans!“
- „That goes you a wet dirt on!“
- „My dear Mr. Singing Club“
- „I believe me kicks a horse!“
- „My friend and copperstitcker“
- „I only understand railroad station.“
Welche „denglischen“ Aussprüche kennt Ihr noch so? Weitere haarsträubende Exemplare nehme ich gern in den Kommentaren entgegen.
Bleibt mir nur, mich dem Thema entsprechend zu verabschieden: „Make it good!“ 😀

– "I break together." (vor allem wegen des gleichnamigen Helge-Albums)
– "That's a nice train from You."
